Common Council president calls for "Anti-John Zones"
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Common Council president Willie Hines is asking the city attorney for recommendations on how the city can establish "Anti-John Zones." Their mission would be to curb prostitution.
Hines said in a statement released Thursday morning, "prostitution enforcement has too often focused on arresting prostitutes while penalties for johns have not been enough to dissuade them from patronizing prostitutes."
Hines wants to explore the option of stiffer penalties including confiscation of vehicles and increased fines.
