County Board moves forward with new airport pickup fees for Uber, Lyft, cabs
MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Board on Thursday, July 28th moved forward with new airport pickup fees for taxicabs and ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft.
Beginning September 1st, each Uber and Lyft driver will be required to pay a $125 annual permitting fee. That's in addition to the $3.00 per trip fee already charged at General Mitchell International Airport.
Taxicabs will also see a per trip fee increase from $1.00 to $3.00.
One report estimated that the airport would collect about a half-million more in one year.
