Couple ties the knot on 11-12-13 at Milwaukee County Courthouse

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One Milwaukee couple found the key to never forgetting their wedding anniversary -- have the wedding on 11-12-13.

“11-12-13. Can't get easier than that right?” joked newlywed Eric Muehlbauer.

Eric Muehlbauer and Danielle Sinkula are one of the nearly dozen couples who tied the knot on the unique day of 11-12-13 at the Milwaukee County Courthouse. The couple is also planning a symbolic ceremony in Punta Cana in December, so they will have two anniversaries.

“This is kind of the formality of not having to deal with the process of transferring the license or whatever else in a different country,” explained Eric.

Eric and Danielle said they chose to do the official marriage on 11-12-13 because it was unique. The Presiding Court Commissioner said they aren’t the only ones feeling that way.

“We knew it was going to be a big day for weddings, we knew we would have quite a few and we certainly had more than on your average Tuesday,” said Laura Gramling Perez.

Commissioner Gramling Perez said all eight wedding slots at the courthouse were filled Tuesday. She had been told that there were several other weddings happening elsewhere in the county.
