Three people are dead following a crash on Milwaukee's north side Friday morning, Nov. 3.

Three people are dead following a crash on Milwaukee's north side Friday morning, Nov. 3. It happened near Florist and Sherman around 2:15 a.m.

Police say a Toyota traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on Florist Avenue disregarded the red flashing traffic light and collided with a white Nissan that was traveling south on Sherman Boulevard. The impact of the collision caused the Nissan to strike a tree. The driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old man, fled the scene on foot. He was later arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries.

The driver of the Nissan was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries and later died. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified her as 28-year-old Ebony Johnson.
