Creepy & strange! Porcelain dolls placed in front of homes...that resemble young girls who live there
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA (WITI) -- Eight families in California have been targeted in a disturbing pattern under investigation by police. Porcelain dolls have been left at their homes. The dolls resemble young girls who live there.
“Families in each of the homes where porcelain dolls were left voiced concern that the dolls resembled their daughter," the Orange County Sheriff's Department said in a news release, according to FOX6's sister station, KTLA in Los Angeles.
Law enforcement officials say up to 11 dolls have been placed in front of the homes.
The families all live in the same residential development, known as Talega.
According to KTLA, the dolls, first reported on Tuesday, July 22nd, were taken into evidence and investigators were trying to determine what prompted someone to leave them.
“Is it a prank? Is there some specific motivation? Obviously, there’s an indication by some the parents that the dolls resemble their daughters. We’re talking about children here. Anything that has the potential to involve children causes us some concern.”
“Investigators are working with community members and the impacted families in an attempt to locate any possible connection between the homes where dolls were left,” the Sheriff’s Department news release stated.
After the case gained attention on Thursday, July 24th, the mother of a five-year-old girl who lives in Talega told KTLA that the family had discovered wooden toys at the family’s front door two weeks ago.
The toys appeared to be figurines of three girls with interchangeable clothing.
