Crews respond to chemical spill at Dunham Express

OAK CREEK (WITI) -- The Oak Creek Fire Department was called to Dunham Express in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 26th for a chemical spill.

According to officials, five gallons of corrosive, a material that is hazardous to the skin and to breath, was spilled within the facility around midnight. Due to the spill, Milwaukee hazmat crews were called to the scene to assist and workers were evacuated from the building.

No major injuries were sustained as a result of the spill, however, several employees did report lung irritation and were treated at the scene.

According to authorities, the spill has been cleaned up and employees have returned to work.

The cause of the spill is unknown.
