CUDAHY, Wis. - Firefighters battled a house fire on E. Ramsey Avenue just east of S. Packard Avenue in Cudahy on Monday, Jan. 1.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 8:30 a.m. Monday. A 911 caller believed they could hear an alarm from a smoke detector inside the home – and could smell smoke.
Firefighters did a search of the home when they arrived on the scene – and located one person inside. That person was taken to Ascension Columbia St. Mary's Medical Center in Milwaukee.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
