CURSES! "Effin Bar & Grill" owners taking heat over bar's new name

TWIN LAKE, MICHIGAN (WITI) -- What's in a name? For some residents around the Twin Lake, Michgan area -- a lot!

Some are heated over a new sign outside a local bar.

According to FOX6's sister station FOX17 in West Michigan, David Nichols and Jillian Rork -- the owners of the "Effin Bar and Grill" are taking heat over the sign -- and the name of their bar.

The bar was formerly called "The Alibi" -- and according to FOX17, Nichols and Rork say they're trying to reinvent the bar, and make it a "destination" that will bring more people into the community.

According to FOX17, they say the name comes from the popular vodka brand: Effen Vodka.

Those unhappy say the sign and the bar's name are obscene and offensive -- and bring a bad image to the community.
