David Byrd sentenced to life in prison for killing scrapyard owner

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee County judge sentenced David Byrd to life in prison Tuesday, September 4th after he was found guilty of first degree homicide and possession of a gun by a felon. Byrd was convicted of murdering Sean Jenkins when Byrd and two other men went to Jenkins' scrapyard to rob him.

Jenkins, the owner of Midtown Auto & Metal Recycling was found dead in October 2011.

According to the criminal complaint, Jenkins tried to run, but was shot by Bryd several times.
