Milwaukee travelers uneasy after crash
FOX6 spoke to travelers at Milwaukee Mitchell Intl. Airport, following the mid-air crash at Reagan Washington National Airport, to get their opinions and perspectives.
MILWAUKEE - At least one flight to Washington, D.C. was canceled out of Milwaukee on Thursday, Jan. 30. FOX6 News checked in at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport to see how travelers are dealing with the news out of our nation's capital.

Travelers making their way through Mitchell International Airport had the Washington, D.C. incident on their minds on Thursday, Jan. 30.

For those travelers, the destination does not seem to matter. They were thinking about the victims in the DC collision. Some said they were feeling uneasy, unsettled and heartbroken.

What they're saying:
"From a timeliness standpoint, thinking about the folks in DC is really tragic," said Steve Kalmer, who was flying to Denver. "I think you have to recognize flight travel is really safe – probably better than getting into a car. You know it’s a risk we take, but I think it is one worth the advantages."

"It is on my mind. Like you never know what’s going to happen once you take off, I guess," said Peter Pudner, who was flying to Charlotte. "I’m a little uneasy. I mean I fly almost every single week so I am kind of used to just coming into the airport, but it was a different feeling today just knowing what had happened last night."

"To keep grounded, to keep focused on what you can control," said Denise Reed, who was flying to Tulsa.
Most travelers told FOX6 News on Thursday, that they are making sure to send that "I love you" text to family or friends – before they take off.
