Tichigan crews responded and noted two more deer had been able to free themselves from the water but there was one remaining. Two firefighters, in cold water rescue suits, were able to pull the deer out safely.
Officials said the deer was exhausted and allowed EMS personnel to dry her off before she walked back off into the woods.
The fire department reminded residents that ice conditions can appear safe but may quickly become dangerous. They encouraged calling for professional help during these emergencies.
