Development plans could mean new look for Milwaukee skyline
MILWAUKEE -- New development plans near Milwaukee's lakefront could mean a new look for Milwaukee's skyline.
Milwaukee County's plan to revitalize the lakefront is catching on. Several developers are trying to make a deal to redevelop the U.S. Bank Annex Garage, next door to the Downtown Transit Center.
The County is moving forward with its plan, which includes tearing down the Transit Center to make room for new development. It's also pushing the state to demolish two freeway ramps from the Lake Interchange to make room for a high rise.
At this point, no deal has been made for the U.S. Bank property, but possibilities for the site could include offices, or even a hotel.
