State health officials report 2,287 new positive cases of COVID-19, 9 new deaths

State health officials reported 2,287 new positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin Sunday and nine new deaths.

The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Wisconsin rose by 2,287 Sunday, Dec. 27, officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported, for a total of 470,818.

There have been 4,692 deaths in the state, with nine new deaths reported Sunday by DHS officials.

Of the positive cases, 20,829 have required hospitalization (4.4%), while 433,415 have recovered (92.5%), making for 30,331 active cases (6.5%).

More than 2.3 million have tested negative. 

More than 2.8 million have been tested.
