OKLAHOMA CITY - It only took one distracted driver to cause a nine-car pileup on an Oklahoma state highway this week, dashcam footage shows.
According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the dashcam video came from a semi that was involved in the crash near Oklahoma City.
The video clip shows a white pickup swerving into the semi to try and avoid hitting a car in front of the truck. The truck had failed to stop in time to avoid a crash. The pickup ended up hitting the car in front of it, then crashed into the semi’s passenger side. It ripped the wheel off the semi, sending it careening into other cars.

"The white pickup hits the SUV in front and then swerves over, hitting the semi, and ripping the semi’s passenger side wheel off so the semi driver had no steering," the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Troopers said fortunately, only two people were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries. It could have been worse, they warned.
"We need drivers to pay attention and look down the road when driving," they said.
