HARTFORD, Conn. — Police say a Connecticut man admitted fatally throwing his infant son from a bridge then jumping into the river below.

Tony Moreno was charged with murder Wednesday in the death of 7-month-old Aaden Moreno. The boy's body was pulled from the Connecticut River on Tuesday night.

Moreno was arraigned at Hartford Hospital, where he's been treated since firefighters rescued him Sunday night. His bail was set at $2 million.

Court papers say Moreno nodded yes when asked if he dropped the baby from the bridge.

The public defender representing the 21-year-old Moreno did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

The body of Aaden Moreno was found Tuesday night near a bridge in East Haddam, south of the bridge where investigators say his father jumped in.

According to WTIC, court documents also reveal text messages between suspect Tony Moreno and the mother of 7-month-old Aaden Moreno, sent just minutes before the incident.
