Dodge Co. Sheriff's officials: Woman taken to hospital after pursuit of stolen vehicle exceeding 100mph
DODGE COUNTY -- Officials with the Wisconsin State Patrol tell FOX6 News a woman operating a stolen vehicle was taken to the hospital after a crash following a chase on Sunday, September 4th.
FOX6 News is told around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a State Patrol vehicle handling a traffic backup in Fond du Lac County engaged in a chase with a stolen vehicle headed down 41 from Winnebago County.
The chase went for 21.6 miles, and the driver of the stolen car, a woman in her 20s, was driving at speeds exceeding 100 miles-per-hour.
The chase entered Dodge County, where Sheriff's deputies and a Village of Lomira police officer deployed stop sticks just south of Highway 67.
The vehicle struck the stop sticks and veered off to the side of the road -- striking a sign and eventually spinning out.
The chase was over by about 4:45 p.m.
The driver of the stolen vehicle was taken to the hospital. Her condition is unknown.
It is believed the vehicle was stolen from a campground in Winnebago County. FOX6 News is told she had two warrants.
