Dodge Co. slammed during height of snow storm
DODGE CO. -- When the snow arrived in Dodge County on Thursday, December 20th, it didn't let up for hours.
Officials say they saw blizzard-like conditions in Dodge County. They were warning drivers to avoid Highway 41 if possible. Part of the reason for the warning -- a semi that jackknifed on the highway. It partially blocked the northbound on-ramp near Highway 67.
"He was being passed by an automobile that cut him off and the semi unit swerved to avoid hitting the auto," said Wisconsin State Trooper Carl Schultz.
Off the roads, Crystal Loof and her children took advantage of a snow day by playing outdoors.
""It's really good, it's the thick stuff really packed good," said Loof.
But people like Jacob Zehren weren't able to play until the snow was cleared from their driveways and walks.
"Started at my parents house and now I came down and did my grandparents house," said Zehren.
