Dodge County: Woman seriously injured after vehicle strikes tree; alcohol believed to be a factor
DODGE COUNTY -- A Muskego woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 67 in the Township of Hubbard in Dodge County early Saturday morning, Feb. 3.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of County Highway S and State Highway 67.
Officials say the woman, 26, failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection and crossed both lanes of traffic. The vehicle left the road and crashed into a tree. The driver was possibly ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle then became fully engulfed by fire.
She suffered serious injures and was taken to the hospital by Flight For Life.
It is believed that alcohol was a factor in this crash.
Once the fire was extinguished and the area was searched, it was discovered that the woman was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
