Donald Trump makes several stops in SE Wisconsin; meets with veterans, law enforcement

MILWAUKEE -- Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is making several stops in Wisconsin on Tuesday, August 16th.

Trump started the day in Milwaukee where he met with law enforcement. That was expected to be Trump's opportunity to comment about the unrest in Milwaukee. Trump bills himself as the law and order candidate -- but he did not comment on the unrest.

Trump was at the War Memorial in downtown Milwaukee for a small event with law enforcement. There, he met with Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, who has previously told FOX6's Theo Keith he would be a "foot soldier" for Trump. Former presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani was there too.

Later Tuesday, Trump was expected to pay a visit to West Bend.

Gov. Scott Walker said he will be there too -- which is a bigger surprise because he skipped a Trump event two weeks ago in Green Bay. Walker tells FOX6 News he wants Trump to focus on Hillary Clinton and not make self-inflicted mistakes.

"If the race is about Hillary Clinton, then Donald Trump wins. If the race is about Donald Trump and all the side-show issues he often comments on, then it's difficult for him to win in those counties across this state and the country," Walker said.

Trump is also doing a town hall at the Pabst Theater with Sean Hannity of FOX News -- as well as a private fundraiser.
