Driver in SUV causes crash then drives away, public asked for help
GRAFTON (WITI) -- Ozaukee County officials are asking for the public's help in its search for a hit-and-run driver.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-vehicle hit-and-run crash with injuries on southbound I-43 at Lakefield Rd. in the Town of Grafton around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16th.
A black Ford Explorer left its lane of travel striking a silver 2002 Pontiac Grand Am causing the Grand Am to take evasive action, strike a guard rail and roll over.
The driver of the Grand Am is a 43-year-old woman from Manitowoc. She was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford Explorer is described as a male, white, wearing a baseball cap and tattoos on his arms. The Ford Explorer may have damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle.
