Driver in custody after leading West Allis police on pursuit
WEST ALLIS, Wis. - A Milwaukee woman, 27, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning, Sept. 15 following a police pursuit that started in West Allis and ended in Milwaukee.
According to police, the pursuit began around 2:35 a.m. after West Allis police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on an unregistered vehicle in the area of 60th and Lincoln.
Police say the vehicle matched the description of a vehicle involved in an eluding incident in the Village of West Milwaukee minutes prior to the attempted WAPD stop.
The suspect vehicle did not stop and a pursuit ensued.
West Allis police terminated its pursuit in the area of S. 40th St. and W. Forest Home. The Greenfield Police Department engaged in a pursuit with the same vehicle and the driver was ultimately taken into custody.
The driver is a 27-year-old woman from Milwaukee. She will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office for review of criminal charges.
