Drivers take note: Triathlon to close several major roads over the weekend
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is alerting drivers about closures that will be taking place Saturday, August 9th and Sunday, August 10th due to the USA Triathlon National Championships.
Milwaukee is the host city for the 2014 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships. Top amateur triathletes will compete in Lake Michigan and along the lakefront in a combination of run/bike/swim events.
Ramp closures will begin at 5:30 a.m. to clear the racecourse of any traffic leading up to the 7:30 a.m. race start. Barricades will also be set up on arterial city streets leading to Lincoln Memorial Drive and Lincoln Memorial Drive. The anticipated time to reopen is 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
