Drug operation crackdown: Racine Co. officials make arrests after six-month investigation
RACINE COUNTY -- Agents from the Racine County Metro Drug Unit along with investigators and deputies from the Racine County Sheriff's Office executed two narcotics-related search warrants Thursday morning, June 25th. That operation resulted in two arrests.
The search warrants resulted from a six-month investigation into a drug trafficking organization that was operating primarily in the City of Racine. Officials say over that time, agents made numerous controlled purchases of cocaine from members of the group.
Agents arrested two men, ages 26 and 28, in Thursday's operation. Each is being held in the Racine County jail on multiple counts of delivering cocaine. Agents also seized from the home of the 26-year-old suspect the following: a loaded semi-automatic .45 Caliber handgun, a .357 revolver and a short-barreled shotgun.
Officials say the investigation is ongoing -- and additional charges may be filed in the days to come.
