Edward McDonald launches campaign for Milwaukee mayor
MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee mayoral candidate kicked off his election campaign Thursday. Edward McDonald is running with a strategy called "Build Milwaukee."
McDonald launched his campaign Thursday at his campaign office on Milwaukee's northwest side.
The "Build Milwaukee" strategy is based on growing the city around some of the great assets and attractions.
McDonald says Milwaukee's next mayor needs to bring life back to some of the less-developed areas. "Our 'Build Milwaukee' plan targets vacant and boarded up properties to bring them back to fruition in order to place families in them, so as part of the 'Build Milwaukee' plan, we will be looking at housing, commercial corner revitalization, as well as manufacturing park development," McDonald said.
McDonald also says Mayor Tom Barrett needs to end his indecision and decide whether he will run for governor in the recall election against Governor Scott Walker, or stay put and run for mayor of Milwaukee.
