Elkhorn woman survives medical challenges, needs help of another kind
ELKHORN, Wis. - After more than 50 surgeries, health complications and near-death scares, an Elkhorn woman has proved she is a fighter; a miracle. But now, getting to treatments is a different challenge for the woman's mother.

What we know:
Everyone Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Kathy Stoll and her daughter, Jessie, have their system down.
Jessie is on kidney dialysis, paralyzed from the waist down due to spina bifida. But now, Stoll said carrying her daughter is taking a toll.
"I have a slipped disc in my back, and I’m not supposed to lift over 50 pounds. Well, she’s almost 100," Stoll said. "We’ve been doing dialysis for 11 years now."
The backstory:

Jessie was born prematurely – and was not supposed to live past a year. Now, she is 25.
What you can do:
Now, Stoll and her family are in need of help. They do not have a wheelchair accessible van, which costs about $50,000.
"Getting her in and out of the car is very hard. And I’ve tried to get a disabled van for the disabled, but I can’t because I have no credit. And that was even with a $10,000 deposit," Stoll said.
Kathy Stoll
Jessie's dad passed away five years ago. Stoll said he would help physically, but also find vans and refurbish them for his daughter.

"I was reluctant to ask for help. Don’t be reluctant to ask for help because there are great people out there," Stoll said.
If you would like to help the Stoll family, a GoFundMe account has been set up to support the purchase of a new van.
