Erik Rosales pleads not guilty in Jiminez homicide case
MILWAUKEE -- 16-year-old Erik Rosales plead not guilty during his preliminary hearing Wednesday, May 2nd. Rosales is one of two men now charged with killing 34-year-old Elideo Jiminez at a home near 19th and Lincoln on Milwaukee’s south side on Wednesday, April 11th.
Also charged is 18-year-old Juan Ramos.
Ramos and Rosales are each charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the murder of Jiminez. They’re also charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide for allegedly attempting to cause the death of Amelia Alvarez.
Jiminez was the boyfriend of Alvarez. According to the criminal complaint, Jiminez crawled into bed with a relative of Alvarez and inappropriately touched her a couple of weeks ago. The victim told Alvarez and Ramos (a relative of the victim) about the incident involving Jiminez.
A couple of weeks later, Ramos and Rosales returned to the home. The complaint alleges Ramos and Rosales entered the bedroom where Jiminez was sleeping with Alvarez — and proceeded to stab him multiple times. Alvarez was also punched and cut in the chaos.
Ramos remained on the scene when officers arrived to investigate. Rosales fled the scene but was later found and taken into custody.
If convicted on the charges, Ramos and Rosales could each face up to life in prison.
