Explosive powder, fireworks removed from home in Waldo
WALDO -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit responded to a request for assistance with explosives found in a home in Waldo Monday morning. Officials say the resident had a prior history of making homemade explosive devices.
The EOD unit assisted with evidence collection, identification and disposal of bulk explosive powders and commercial-grade fireworks. EOD officials say the materials found in the home were "extremely volatile."
The explosive powders were transported to a remote quarry and rendered safe. The fireworks were removed from the home for future destruction.
The Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department says the investigation is ongoing.
