Family of murder victim asks for help in finding killer

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- For the past four years the family of Deon Bolden has held a picnic in the park to remember their loved one and encourage those in the community to come forward with information about his killer.

19-year-old Bolden was shot and killed in his car Memorial Day weekend in 2009 after a confrontation with another driver.

"I'm miserable and I walk around with a smile on my face every day and I got to continue to live my life with the rest of my family," says Bolden's mother, Sandra Townsend. "I slept on it, I thought about it, I just can't let it go. I love my son dearly."

Townsend says there is no closure for her family since Bolden's killer is still at large.

"I don't hate him or them. I forgive them or him or her and it's ok," says Townsend.

Bolden's younger half-brother, Lucky, just wants to know "why."

"What kind of aggression did you have toward my brother that would make you want to do this?" says Lucky.

The family uses the event to celebrate Deon's life and share a message for people who may have information on his death.

"We don't have tomorrow to count on. You never know when it's your time, when someone or some killer will come along and kill someone that you love," says Townsend.

If you have any information about this case you are asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360. There is a reward for any information leading to the arrest of Bolden's killer.
