WAUWATOSA -- The family of Punjab Singh released a statement on Friday, September 7th about the recovery of their loved one. Singh was critically injured August 5th after he was shot in the head during the Sikh Temple shooting in Oak Creek.
In a statement released Friday, the family said...
"Our beloved father and husband, Punjab Singh, was severely injured on that terrible August day. Despite the heroic efforts of emergency responders at the scene and the medical care he received from trauma specialists and other doctors at Froedtert Hospital, he has not fully recovered. He is no longer in the intensive care unit and now is making a slow and gradual recovery. We are grateful for the many messages of support we have received. It is a comfort for us to know people are keeping our father in their thoughts and prayers."
Singh’s family visits the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek every morning to pray for him. When they are not at the temple, they are at his bedside, holding his hand and massaging his feet — little things to let him know they’re there.
Singh is the only victim remaining in the hospital. Sanktoh Singh and Lt. Brian Murphy were released and are recovering at home.
