Fatal crash: One dead, two others hurt in incident involving farm equipment in Dodge County
DODGE COUNTY -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say one person was killed, and two others were hurt (one of them seriously) after a crash on Wednesday evening, October 21st.
It happened around 7:00 p.m. on State Highway 73 near the intersection of Concord Road in the Township of Westford.
A preliminary investigation indicates a farm tractor was towing a corn picker and gravity box traveling south on State Highway 73 and began a left turn -- just as a southbound Ford SUV began to pass the farm equipment on the left.
As the crash occurred, a Dodge Charger was traveling south on State Highway 73 and struck the gravity box.
A passenger in the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford was severely injured and flown from the scene by Theda Star helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison.
The driver of the tractor was severely injured and flown from the scene by Flight for Life helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison.
The driver of the Dodge was uninjured in the crash.
Names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
