Fatal wreck: Crash shuts down stretch of northbound I-43
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A stretch of northbound I-43 was shut down late Saturday, May 17th at Good Hope Rd. due to a fatal crash.
The wreck involved a single car and happened around 7:45 p.m. Traffic had to be diverted off the interstate at Good Hope Road.
Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say a vehicle veered off the road on I-43 at Bender Road.
The vehicle struck some brush and small trees.
One person was killed. He has been identified as 60-year-old Charles Kleser of Brown Deer.
We're told the operator was the only person inside the vehicle involved in this crash.
Flight for life was initially called to the scene, but was then cancelled.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
