WASHINGTON COUNTY -- A 28-year-old Town of Hartford motorcycle died from injuries he suffered after a collision with a pickup truck on Friday, September 11th.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says the collision happened around noon at the intersection of State Highway 164 and Hubertus Rd in the Village of Richfield. The initial investigation indicates a southbound pickup truck attempting to turn east onto Hubertus Road turned in front of a northbound motorcycle causing the collision.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Medical Examiner.
The operator of the pickup truck, a 75-year-old Town of Polk man and his 73-year-old female passenger were not injured.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
The accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. State Highway 164 at Hubertus Road was closed until 4:20 p.m. when it was reopened to traffic.
