MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Monday morning, January 5th.
It happened around 2:06 a.m. on southbound I-94, just north of W. College Avenue.
According to officials, a semi rear-ended a pickup truck that had stalled in traffic. The passenger of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as 31-year-old Demetrius Crawford of Milwaukee. Crawford suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment. Crawford was driving on a suspended driver’s license and was subsequently arrested for operating after suspension – causing death, which is a class H felony. If convicted Crawford faces up to 6 years in prison.
The victim was identified as 28-year-old Brandon Williams of Milwaukee. The cause of death will be determined by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The Sheriff’s Office is conducting the crash investigation.
