Fatal wreck: One killed in two-vehicle crash in Town of Woodville
CALUMET COUNTY (WITI) -- The Calumet County Sheriff's Department responded to a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Woodville on Thursday, September 11th. One person died as result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The incident around 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of Marx Road and Harvestore Road.
According to officials, when deputies arrived on scene they discovered that the 29-year-old driver of a Toyota traveling westbound on Harvestore Road failed to yield the right-of-way from the stop sign at the intersection of Harvestore and Marx.
As a result, the Toyota was t-bones by a northbound Ford, driven by a 37-year-old Kaukauna man.
Three men were inside the Toyota at the time of the crash.
The male driver of the Toyota died at the scene as of result of injuries sustained in the crash. The two other male passengers were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton with non-life threatening injuries.
The name of the driver and passengers is not being released at this time.
The lone male occupant of the Ford was not injured.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash. Seatbelt usage for all occupants is still unknown at this time.
The crash remains under investigation.
Due to the road closure of STH 32/57 at USH 10 for the construction of a round-a-bout, the town roads around the area have seen a large traffic volume increase. The Calumet County Sheriff's Department would like to remind everyone to drive safely and to follow the posted detour.
