FBI investigating Milwaukee Fire Department Station 29; officials remain tight-lipped

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Division of the FBI has announced an investigation into Milwaukee Fire Department Station 29 on the city's south side. As a result of this, MFD officials are launching their own investigation -- looking into any possible employee misconduct.

Officials are remaining very tight-lipped as to the circumstances surrounding the investigation -- leaving many with more questions than answers.

According to MFD officials, around 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 10th, a search warrant was executed at Milwaukee Fire Station 29 -- located at 3529 S. 84th Street (near 84th and Morgan). The search warrant was executed to "ensure compliance with the federal jurisdiction and the ongoing investigation."

A Milwaukee man who lives just across the street from the fire station said his wife was home at the time the search warrant was executed. She heard some ruckus, but nothing out of the ordinary.

"She said that there was some commotion over there, but that's not really uncommon," said Michael Kron.

Kron said he can't imagine why the FBI would pay the facility a visit.

"I mean they are great neighbors. Really, they are," said Kron.

In a news release, MFD officials said they are unable to comment at this time. However, as a result of the execution of the search warrant, they said they'll be conducting an internal investigation to determine if there was any employee misconduct.

Ironically, the news release listed a number for the media to call if they had questions. FOX6 News called, but there was no answer.
