Fender benders litter roadways after burst of snow
MILWAUKEE -- The slick conditions on the road Friday made it difficult to control vehicles. That's evidenced by the wrecks seen along the roads throughout southeast Wisconsin.
In Milwaukee County alone, there were reports of more than 25 crashes and two dozen spinouts. There were dozens of cars in ditches in Washington, Waukesha and Walworth counties, and as of late Friday afternoon, outlying roadways remained snow-covered and slippery.
Officials urged all drivers to use extra caution when venturing out on the roads Friday. Salt trucks and plows are now clearing the roads, so conditions should improve as the day wears on.
