Fire damages vacant home near Barker and Buchanan in Racine; cause under investigation
RACINE -- Racine firefighters responded to the scene of a vacant house fire near Barker and Buchanan early Wednesday morning, October 21st.
Upon arrival, they found a large fire on the rear deck of the home that had extended up into the eaves and into the attic. Crews were on scene for about two hours.
Officials say the fire caused damage to the exterior of the home as well as the kitchen, second floor and attic.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
