First responders gather in Union Grove for mass shooting drill

UNION GROVE (WITI) -- Police officers and paramedics from across southeastern Wisconsin came together on Sunday, April 14th for a mass shooting drill.

The training drill was held in Union Grove on the Southern Wisconsin Center campus.

The focus of the event was for first responders to treat critically-injured people in a dangerous, stressful situation.

The lead instructor says some of those in training already have real experience.

"Some of the people that are either instructing the class or are in the class as students actually participated in the Azana Spa response," Chad Stiles said.

The students practices three separate scenarios on Sunday. The drills are the climax of a 40-hour class taken by the officers and paramedics enrolled.
