Watch: Florida 'manic woman' hits deputy with car outside sheriff’s office
FORT MEYERS, Fla. - Authorities in Florida said a "manic woman" struck a deputy with her car while driving outside the Lee County Sheriff’s Office headquarters in Fort Myers on September 23.
Sheriff Carmine Marceno released footage on social media showing Deputy Bruce Fowler getting hit by the car.
The sheriff's office said a person went inside the building to file a report regarding a woman causing a disturbance outside.

Fowler responded hoping to deescalate the situation but realized the woman was acting erratically and requested additional support.
It was at the moment he was hit by the vehicle.
"I am absolutely outraged by the actions of this criminal," Marceno said. "This woman showed a complete lack of regard for Deputy Fowler, who was attempting to assist her."
Deputies arrested the driver. Fowler remains at home recovering from his injuries.
