Folks enjoy a day in the snow, while others wish they stayed indoors

MILWAUKEE -- Across the area, people reveled in the beauty of the snow but with the good, there is bad. Several crashes were reported in Milwaukee and Racine Counties, but people are still trying to make the most of the weather.

The first snowfall of the season can often seem magical.

"We woke up, we looked outside and it was full of snow," said Adrianna Wilson, at the park with her family.

And through the eyes of a child, this weather couldn't be any better.

"We were happy because we were thinking about going sledding today," said Wilson.

At Lockwood Park in Racine County, the fresh powder meets its first sledders of the season.

"It gets the slickest, so you can get pretty quick," said Adam Wilson, Adrianna's dad.

Adam Wilson and his daughters are making the most of the winter weather.

"Thought I'd grab the kids, grab some sleds and come out and have a little bit of sledding fun," said Adam.

But it is not all fun and games for everyone.

"It didn't seem like we had that much snow until you started getting rid of it," said Becky Koss, Racine.

Becky and her nephew work to clear the driveway on Saturday.

"It's heavier than it looked," said Koss.

Racine County had some of the most snowfall -- parts of it seeing more than eight inches.

"I just like how it looks in the park, with the snow and the trees...but I just don't want to be out in it," said Koss.

But for those who do, they're making the most before it melts away.

In Racine County, there are dozens of accidents. About 40 cars were reported in ditches on Saturday, and about 25 property damage accidents.

In Milwaukee County, there were 29 disabled vehicles.
