Former House of Correction warden will not be charged with a crime
FRANKLIN -- FOX6 News has learned the warden who ran the House of Correction in Franklin will not be charged with a crime for accusations she paid money to a contractor for work in the jail that was never done.
According to a source with the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the Milwaukee County District Attorney says Nancy Evans did not demonstrate action that rises to the level of a criminal offense.
The D.A. is recommending the situation is best handled as an internal rules violation.
There is no word yet as to whether Evans will return to her job. She has been off the job since May.
