Fox Point dad reunited with girl who was taken to Japan

A Wisconsin man has been reunited with his 9-year-old daughter, capping a long international custody case between an American parent and the Japanese government.

Karina Garcia arrived from Japan on Friday morning, just in time for the holidays.

Moises Garcia of Fox Point said Saturday it's a "big gift from God" to be with his daughter again. He says he's been studying Japanese for a year because he knew he'd need it, and now he's been speaking it for the past 24 hours.

The girl's mother, Emiko Inoue pleaded no contest last month in Milwaukee to interfering with child custody. She was released from jail Friday after Karina returned

Inoue had fled to her native Japan with the girl in 2008, shortly after her husband filed for divorce.
