Franklin motel fire, 1 taken to hospital
A fire at the American Motel in Franklin injured one person on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 10. The motel is on 27th Street near Ryan Road.
FRANKLIN, Wis. - A Franklin motel fire sent one resident to a hospital on Saturday, Feb. 10.
It happened at the American Motel, on 27th Street north of Ryan Road, around 2 p.m. The fire department said only one person was hurt.

The fire caused significant damage to the motel room where it started, officials said, and displaced occupants from approximately 20 other living units at the motel. The American Red Cross is assisting two families with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but officials said it appears to be accidental.
FOX6 News reached out to the American Motel, but did not hear back.
