Franklin police: Violent home invasion involved 83-year-old victim, and no one's in custody
FRANKLIN (WITI) -- Franklin police are seeking a suspect in connection with a home invasion involving an 83-year-old victim.
It happened Monday, January 26th just after 3 a.m. near 117th and Oakwood Road.
Police say a male suspect, between the ages of 20 and 29 entered the 83-year-old victim's home -- demanding money, prescription medication and alcohol. The suspect ransacked the home, police say -- pushing the victim down several times when he did not get what he wanted.
The victim was able to get away from the suspect when police say he returned to the home to load up more of her belongings. He intended to steal the victim's vehicle, along with safes and a rifle.
The 83-year-old victim was able to drive herself to the police department, where she reported the incident.
The suspect is described as tall and thin with brown hair.
