Gov. Scott Walker says he'll likely lead a trade mission to Israel this year
MADISON (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker says he's likely to lead a trade mission to Israel later this year.
The trip would be his first there in more than four years as governor and comes as the Republican continues to seriously explore a run for president in 2016.
Walker says Monday that he's had multiple requests to go to Israel "so we'll probably try to find a way."
He says the general counsel's office in Israel has asked him to come and talk about water technology.
Walker and other potential presidential hopefuls spoke at the Republican Jewish Coalition spring meeting last year. He has also met multiple times with billionaire casino magnate and GOP-donor Sheldon Adelson.
Walker has said Adelson talked with him about his views on Israel during their visits.
