MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker's gubernatorial campaign committee has only $160,000 cash on hand.
Walker's filing Friday shows that he spent almost as much as he raised in the first six months of the year. He raised $1.1 million and spent $970,000.
As paltry as his cash on hand is, it is better than where he stood at the end of 2015. At that point he had just $20,000 in cash.
Walker does not face re-election until 2018. He has not declared his candidacy but has hinted he plans to run for a third term.
The governor spent much of the last year campaigning for the GOP presidential nomination. He dropped out of the race in September, leaving his candidate committee with a debt of $807,000 at the end of May.
