Gov. Walker says casino decision will not be rushed

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Gov. Scott Walker says a decision on whether to allow a casino to be built and operated in Kenosha will not be rushed.

During a visit to Milwaukee on Friday, November 8th, Gov. Walker indicated he had given the Menominee Nation a 60-day window in which he hoped to have a decision on the proposed casino. But he says he will take the time necessary to make the right decision for the state and the region.

Gov. Walker says there is a compelling argument for the casino -- because there's a great need for jobs in Kenosha. He also says there's a compelling argument the casino would create job losses in Milwaukee and other communities where casinos already exist.

Gov. Walker says he will try to balance all the arguments -- and make a decision in the near future. He says legally, he is not bound to some kind of timetable.
