Governor Scott Walker visiting US troops in Middle East
MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker is spending the week as part of a delegation of governors visiting U.S. troops in the Middle East.
Walker first announced Monday in a message on Twitter that he was overseas visiting troops. His spokesman Tom Evenson later released a statement saying Walker is part of a delegation of governors invited by the U.S. Department of Defense, which organized the trip.
Walker is scheduled to be gone Monday until Friday visiting deployed members of the National Guard. His office did not say where exactly in the Middle East he will be.
