Governor Walker appoints inspector, clerk to fill election commission

MADISON — Gov. Scott Walker has appointed an election inspector and retired county clerk to the elections commission, filling out the six-person body.

Walker made the two appointments from nominees submitted by legislators.

From the Republican list, Walker selected Beverly Gill, a Town of Burlington election inspector. From the Democrats' list, Walker selected Julie Glancey, a retired Sheboygan County clerk and former president of the Wisconsin County Clerks Association.

The two join Don Millis, Ann Jacobs, Steve King and Mark Thomsen on the elections commission. Along with a new ethics commission, the partisan commission will replace the nonpartisan state Government Accountability Board on June 29.

The elections commission has already selected the GAB's Elections Division administrator, Michael Haas, to be the commission's administrator, subject to Senate confirmation.
