Governor Walker orders flags lowered after former Rep. Tamara Grigsby's death
MADISON -- Governor Scott Walker issued Executive Order #193 to lower the flags of the United States and of the state of Wisconsin on Thursday, March 31st in honor of former Representative Tamara Grigsby, who passed away unexpectedly on March 14th.
Governor Walker released the following statement:
Tonette and I send our thoughts to the family and friends of former Representative Tamara Grigsby. Representative Grigsby was a tireless advocate for children and families throughout Wisconsin and her dedication and passion will be missed. The work of Representative Grigsby in her community and for the state was inspiring, and we keep her and her loved ones in our prayers.
Representative Grigsby represented the people of the 18th Assembly District from 2005-2013.
During her time serving in the Wisconsin Assembly, Representative Grigsby helped create the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families in 2008. Prior to being elected as a representative, she was dedicated to serving her community and the people of Milwaukee, where she served as program manager for the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families.
